I think I saw HC posted that Singapore is a Socialist Democracy and not like US Liberal Democracy which imo is similar to China's Socialist. So you are right - PAP and CCP should have similar ideologies. 

HC is BS...here is why:


The PAP was exposed in 1976 as fake socialists.
In fact the PAP destroyed Barisan Socialis..and they were expelled.


Ever since they took power they adhered to the Washington Cknsensus which is a template for capitalistic developmental model. In fact LKY had a group kf PAP leadership went yo US to study this and came back with these ideas and were such strong adherents that LKY became hero to the American right wing. ...they just love him.

Basic tenets like fiscal conservancy, deregulation, anti welfarism, broaden the tax code(GST)  etc the PAP did better that the ultra capitalists in the American right wing.who had to contend with the pro welfare Democratic Party.

The result is inequaliity in Singapore. balloon to highest in developed countries.

It is known that once you eat the fruits of the Washington Consensus ....they will pay back when you society becomes socially fractured and divided..
