It makes S'poreans wonder why our Govt has signed away more than 100,000 jobs to Indian nationals when so many citizens cannot find work. Keeping to this thread, discriminatory practices against older workers may even be seen by younger colleagues as necessary to resolve the growing problem of unemployment and underemployment among their cohort of degree holders. Junior employees with aspirations to climb the corporate ladder may see older co-workers as a hindrance to their ambitions. 

how can the discrminatory practices be necessary if the older workers are more capable than the young workers ?

you cannot remove a more capable old worker and replace with a less capable young worker.

whether young or old, all should compete based on capability and competence.
