Devastation in Gaza as Israel wages war on Hamas

US-proposed to UN Security Council resolution on Gaza will be brought to a vote today. The resolution calls for “immediate and sustained ceasefire… in connection with the release of all remaining hostages.”

Talks on a ceasefire and hostages deal resume in Qatar today, according to sources familiar with the plans. "Gaps are narrowing" in deal negotiations but challenges remain, according to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Blinken is in Israel, where he is meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli war cabinet as a part of a diplomatic push for a ceasefire in Gaza. As the Israeli military said it killed more than 140 people it described as "terrorists" in its raid on Al-Shifa Hospital, which began on Monday. Hundreds of people are still thought to be trapped in the hospital.
