To do f&b overseas, locations very important. Friends' chinese restaurants at Vancouver/Richmond and Toronto are faring very well, mainly due to the Chinese immigrant populations (some called them Hans, but they preferred to be called Tongs). Another good locations are university campuses and their surrounding areas.
