Actually, his comment is not wrong. If blur sellers or blur buyers (or both) do not know the market well, they may sell too low or pay too high. It is a fact.
And these blur kings will indeed benefit with the help of an experienced agent. You need to pay him comm maybe between $5k to $10k, but if you potentially can reap an additional profit of say $20k to $50k with an experienced agent, why not? It makes sense.
Meaning he did make a valid point based on his scenario
The question of whether you need an agent or not, only arises if you are already well versed with the market... or you think you are equally capable as a trained agent. Ahh then you don't need to waste money paying the agent commission
