NATO wouldn't have been formed in first place if Stalin had not rejected US offer of same Marshall Plan which benefited the rest of Europe, every where in instituted, 

Stalin instead bent every effort to CONQUER & dominate Euro neighboring states & expand it borders with its concept of "sphere of influence " like want Putin is doing now, land grabbing.

We need to understand Russia didn't come to encompass 11% of earth's land area, by being invaded by other countries, did so by invading far more other countries, than it was itself invaded. 

Noted: Russia is a Federation of states and the Russian part of this federation is the smallest state in the "Russian Federation.

(Russia with a total area of 17,098,242 Km² (6,601,665 mi²) and a land area of 16,376,870 Km² (6,323,142 mi²), equivalent to 11% of the total world's landmass.

In history many nations. Almost all countries have been invaded frequently by their neighbors throughout history. Else where now Russia invaded more, for eg: same for others like France, Poland in their history. Except Germany  who started WWII...

So acting as victim, when comes to west, Kremlin does all the time, a evil on west aggressive invades, always attacking. This why western NATO is in danger to be warn, is absolute & nothing more and less Kremlin / Putin is done so be overlook the facts. 

To note: Eastern Euro was under brutal Russian regime over many yrs, hegemonic control by Russia for over 40 yrs that is historical what the Russia had invaded and occupied many more of its neighbors.

RUSSIA Can't Take Land is Not Acceptable to all (Nobody like to be or be a "buffer country).  

This concept is demeaning to any independent nation. All nation outside of Ruzzia ferderation wanted little bit of  freedom & self-determination, & Russia has no right to take or bully others to accept they as a sort of a dog or 2nd class nations (indirectly or direct) to serve kremlin's geopolitical agenda, so Kremlin, the RuZZians & Putin cannot feel better about selves.
