Not surprised if it really happen. After all now ish the best opportunity for CCP to invade Taiwan, the west had half their hands & legs tied with Ukraine and middle-east, no matter whether the west got the will and desire to protect taiwan or not, the hard truth ish they will not be able to put 100% efforts into Taiwan since they are also occupied elsewhere.
Not to mention currently Taiwan got the very pro-CCP KMT and TPP controlling the parliament and also running most of their major cities, which mean they could aid the invasion like what happen to the first Russian invasion into Ukraine.
