my friend rented out his cairnhill condo for S$20K/month and rented a condo to stay for S$8K/month. Now he is on the world tour with that additional income.

Aiyah, I guess most of the million dollars salary ministers are having properties on huge rental income lah. They are in difficult situation to disclose anything about Shame's rental amount as anything they said can be boomeranged back on their rental properties too. 

BTW, let's be clear that there is nothing illegal or criminal about having properties for rental. However, I am not too sure or educated on the morality aspect.

Assuming, a large portion of their ministerial incomes from taxpayers money goes to repaying their existing home mortgages so, there's no good reasons for them + extended family renting and living in another states own properties. .

Seriously nobody cares if they paid SLA ( our collective resources ) the Rightful market rate rental ( eg 60Kpm for 15,000sqft  or $4 per sqft) for ridout GCBs ( after reno costs of course) . But instead they choose to raid our reserves shamelessly. ( they paid around $0.08 per sqfeet !   to gain an financial advantage in arbitraging) Which is why they are in such an embarrassing state or as CCS will say " xia suay" !

It isn't strictly arbitraging because they are not making money from the same property.

Whatever term you may want to use, they could be making money from the difference in rent between their own GCBs (who knows how many?) and a B&W.

Nothing illegal about this, so why don't they just come clean instead of hiding behind Ah Teo?
