Former Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say, who appeared in one of the photographs alongside Mr Ong and Su, described the event as a "social gathering among old friends" which he said was held on May 10, 2022.

Mr Goi said the meals took place "around 2020" before Singapore implemented COVID-19 restrictions.

Which is correct?

SOP : It's normal protocol for politicians to be given a list of attendees well b4 any functions.

And surely, the ministers themselves must have spoken to each other and scrutinized the participants.

What happened if the stranger turned out to be a terrorist?.

No excuse lah

The statements from former Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say regarding the social gathering with Mr. Ong and Su contain several potential loopholes or areas that could raise questions. Here are some of them:

### 1. **Unfamiliar Face at the Dinner**

   - **Loophole:** Lim claims Su was the only stranger and that he had no idea why Su was included by the host. However, this raises questions:

     - Why didn’t he or others inquire about Su’s presence, given that it was a small gathering of "old friends"?

     - If Su was an outsider, why was he allowed to join without introduction or explanation?

   - **Possible Implication:** This could suggest either negligence in vetting attendees or an attempt to downplay Su’s significance.

### 2. **No Contact After the Dinner**
   - **Loophole:** Lim states he had no further contact with Su after the dinner. However:

     - How can he be certain Su had no further interactions with other attendees?

     - Was there any follow-up discussion among the group about Su’s presence?

   - **Possible Implication:** The claim seems like an attempt to distance himself from Su, but without evidence, it’s hard to verify.

### 3. **Nature of the Gathering**

   - **Loophole:** He describes it as a casual "social gathering among old friends," yet Su’s presence introduces ambiguity:

     - If it was truly private, why was an outsider included?

     - Was there any professional or political relevance to Su’s attendance?

   - **Possible Implication:** The framing of the event as purely social may be an oversimplification if Su had other connections (e.g., business, lobbying).

### 4. **Host’s Decision to Include Su**

   - **Loophole:** Lim says he doesn’t know why Su was invited, shifting responsibility to the host. However:

     - Did Lim or others ask the host about Su’s inclusion?

     - If Su had questionable ties (e.g., foreign influence), why was no due diligence done?

   - **Possible Implication:** The lack of curiosity about an outsider in a close-knit gathering seems unusual, especially for a public figure.

### 5. **Selective Attention During the Dinner**

   - **Loophole:** Lim claims they "did not pay much attention" to Su because they were catching up.

     - If Su was a stranger, wouldn’t his presence warrant at least some interaction or questioning?

     - Was Su merely an observer, or did he participate in discussions?

   - **Possible Implication:** The assertion that Su was ignored may be an attempt to minimize the significance of his presence.

### **Possible Underlying Issues**
- **Transparency:** The explanation lacks details about Su’s background, the host’s motives, or whether the gathering had any indirect political/business implications.

- **Accountability:** If Su had controversial ties (e.g., foreign agent, lobbyist), Lim’s passive stance could be seen as a failure to exercise caution.

- **Plausibility:** The story relies heavily on the idea that no one questioned Su’s presence, which seems unlikely in a small, private setting.

### **Conclusion**
While Lim’s statements aim to portray the event as harmless, the loopholes suggest either a lack of scrutiny or an attempt to deflect deeper inquiry. A more thorough explanation (e.g., who invited Su, whether others interacted with him, or if the gathering had any undisclosed purpose) would be needed to fully assess the situation.

From the list of attendees given by Sam Goi to both present and past politicians, the ministers including Lim would have asked, who is this guy, Su Haijin?

No reasons saying Su, a stranger after 3-4 years

Minister rubbing shoulders with strangers without bodyguards?

What if he is a paid assassin?

These big shots are trying to con ordinary people!

Stranger? Are they referring to the strangers in Punggol?

10 people sitting and eating together and out of them, one is a stranger? Are they talking through their noses?

No introduction by the host? All just sat there and ate like babis? Can VIPs be on the same table with strangers? Had their bodyguards failed in their duties?
