I can see why those M'sians KPKB to their ministers. Without SG and SGD, they can either return to their kampong  or stick around in JB to do other illegal jobs..Big Grin

These touts, who operate using luxury MPVs costing more than RM500,000 (S$152,000) each, are believed to earn between RM1,650 and RM3,300 (S$1,000) each day. But since the crackdown by Singapore’s LTA from Aug 5, these touts, who would usually hang around Larkin Sentral Terminal canvassing passengers, have gone into hiding.

While these activities break the law what harm did they caused.

Its more like they are caught in some pettu dispute between authorities from both sides who suddenly decided tk enforce some rules that have been ignored for yrs.

the illegal operators of phv cry unfair. there is nothing unfair. one use a machine to conduct illegal activites. one must know the risk all illegal item seize will be confiscated.
lta good job finally, late better the none.
please continue to work. after a while those illegal operator will be back. the difference of 3x the fare is too attractive.

mom has not work enough. no hear the illegal driver and their boss being prosecuted enough.
platform that allow illegal acts must also be bought to the law.
no special excuse. if you prosecute yesterday illegal saloon owners for employing without permit. same must be on the platform owner.

Eight drivers were caught providing illegal cross-border ride-hailing services at Singapore's land checkpoints over the past few days, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Sep. 30.  All eight vehicles were impounded.

Malaysia drivers divided over Singapore crackdown on illegal ride-hailing
Some Malaysian motorists say they feel unfairly targeted, while others recognize Singapore’s right to act against unlicensed operators. The Straits Times reported that the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has been detaining suspected vehicles for investigation.

One driver, identified only as Tan, said he was held for several hours at Tuas Checkpoint after sending friends home to Skudai in Johor, southern Malaysia. He worried about facing a fine of up to SGD3,000 (US$2,333) if found guilty of breaking Singapore’s laws
