Good to have competition so that consumers have more choices of reserve currency. But Russian and China is aiming to get rid of USD and this is not competition. The consumers will not benefit at all.

Not true. China never said not to use USD.

Not to use USD how to trade with US and Europe?

Even Canada co ordering for 7 huge container ships proposed to pay in RMB because the firm has RMB to pay.

Most countries don't want a system such that US can just sanction other countries as it likes.

With a multicurrency system, US cannot sanction as it likes.

Naive to think of get rid. That mean 350m American will go die. Impossible lah.

Just devaluation of USD and American can slim down to supermodels.

Can understand why Russia wants to get rid of USD and they have had,  resulting in the European,  US  and other Western countries not buying oil and gas from Russia and Russians have to sell most of the gas and oil to China and India.  But cannot understand why China wants to follow Russia unless they are not thinking about selling their goods and produce to European,  US, and Western countries. Very likely China has been pressured politically.  They will not be so silly and commit "economic suicide"  to follow Russia exactly by not accepting USD or Euro in their trades.

Putin plans wil failed. That is their rubbish BRICS notes. Not to forget that USD and Euro are still 2 most fundamental currencies universally. Whole EU and US North and South America are still using these 2 currencies. The ruble currency hv already gone into rubbles.

An issuer of a currency will need to be able inspire confidence plus have an underlying wealth that underpins the currency's value. BRICS with its motley crew of countries have neither. Maybe only China out of the whole lot has a currency that fits the criteria, if it is willing to make its currency completely convertible.
