His aims are on Asia. He has already started it during his first term. This is just a continuation. 

He is looking for rare earth for weapons production.

Wonder what reason has he given for imposing tariffs on Singapore as US enjoys a trade surplus with Singapore?

Or just that he feels like it? No need to give "reasons" anymore like he earlier did.

The lesson is that you only trade with those countries that are on friendly terms with you. Singapore mainly buy military equipment from them.

Most Asian countries trade volume depend on MNC investments export to US.. 
That's why the huge surplus in trading with US.
Viet, Thai and Malaysia

And US uses to be a friendly trading partner to Asia. But not anymore 🤣

Singapore's manufacturing is 17.3% of GDP last year, second largest segment after wholesale trade.
