the airliner attempted an emergency belly landing, which means landing the aircraft without the landing gear fully extended.

The 737-800 belly landed without flaps nor gears down and slided beyond the runway and slamming into what look like a parameter wall or dirt mount.
In the 1st 20 seconds it looked like a near perfect emergency landing until the jet broke into flame and pieces.
Google Street photo shows the Muan airport parameter fence is constructed of concrete or brick walls.

What I read is birds fly into plane engine leading to failure. Why engine failed lead to landing gear not able to deploy remain to be investigated. So culprit is birds and then later runway not long got wall hoot boom. Birds got eyes why fly into engine I wonder.

Cause of the accident

1. Bird strike jam the landing gear.
2. Pilot had no choice but to do a belly landing which he executed quite well.
3. The plane skidded on the belly and hit a wall at the end of the runway.

You can blame the birds that's nature.
You can't blame the pilot who landed on belly because he had no choice.

So everyone is asking ..what is the wall doing at the end of the runway? ...who decided to put it there and how did it clear safety.

The only one week earlier Azerbaijan plane crash but the Russian pilot choose to land tilted sacrificing one wing to scrape the road to drastically reduce speed upon belly landing and he saved about 30 lives and that road he landed not even smooth runway.

S.Korean pilot to me need not execute such dangerous move as he was given a smooth runway just did not forsee the big plane glide so long until it shot out the runway and hit with the wall.

Ppl are comparing these two plane crashes due to so close time period and talking about the pilot skills of different nationalities.
