CNA: British PM Liz Truss is a Case Study in Poor Leadership
#1
Cool

"... during her limp and inadequate press conference that followed the firing, that perhaps Truss herself was beginning to recognise that she was falling badly short of what is needed in her role.

It will be for psychologists or close friends, rather than students of leadership like myself, to explain why Truss has had so much difficulty grasping the reality of the situation which confronted her. She has now, perhaps, finally started to see how much more difficult it all was than she imagined. But it is far, far too late."

In reality UK has freed herself
next domino:US Federal Reserve Board has recently pumped $9.37 billion into the Swiss national bank in what is likely an attempt to prevent Credit Suisse from going under.
All gold and treasure hoards that once back the US dollar are now under Putin and Xi.
funny money implosions are not for the faint of hearts.

All EU embassies are evacuated to a Polish city. Ukraine war is technically over.
Russia is waiting for winter to rollover Ukraine.
TUxxx strategic bombers and Iskanda -M hypersonic are effective in taking out the energy Grid
b they power plants or water types

It is a standard tactic of western observers to start blaming everything on one particular national leader whenever shiit hits the fan. It helps them to avoid the most obvious but dangerous question of them all - what happened to the system that allowed for this patently CMI person to hold a top position in the first place?

We've see that happen in the US before whereby most of the mainstream media and academics conveniently just blamed every ill that has befallen US on Trump. They are now doing the same thing - UK is in such a bad shape because of Liz Truss so they say. The unspoken fact that matters is UK's current predicament is a cumulation of successive poor leadership from Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss.

To admit such a thing would be to acknowledge that Westminster democracy's much fabled self-correcting mechanism is not what it seems, this is seen as dangerous ideology. However until such a time where the nation admits that there is something faulty about their current political system that needs to be fixed, the country will continue its slow descend no matter who is in charge.

This is not a sell for China's authoritative government system which like all systems including Westminster democracy, has its pros and cons and require certain conditions to be met before the benefits can be fully exploited and the shortfalls kept controllable. By focusing the discussion on lynching Liz Truss, UK people are simply denying that there is something wrong and ignoring the need to review and make fundamental changes to the way their national leaders are selected.

That is the nature politics - one won't admit their mistake in a broken system that is for a long time skewed towards protecting one's interest rather than serving the public and people.  What is worst is while many can see the emperor wears no cloths, the elites and "top 1%" continue to assume their role as an entitlement than a duty.

No system is ever perfect - The is why any governance need constant reform and renewal - easier said than done.

Not doing so is just following what History has shown us - Fermentation of distrust, revolts and revolutions.

That is true – political systems, just like business organizations, need constant review and reorgs to stay relevant and correct problems.

The challenge for western democracies is after the end of the cold war, they drank so much Kool aid that many believe to this day that their existing system is practically as perfect as can be. Such erroneous and sclerotic thinking is reflected in arrogant memes like “democracy is the worst system except everything else”, “the end of history and the last man” etc.

When empirical evidence began to emerge in the early 2000s whereby many newly democratized countries simply collapsed and sunk into the abyss, western media, academics and politicians refused to acknowledge that a closer study on western democracies was warranted.

Instead they came up with theories to explain away these failures. Many academics and media commentators simply dismissed such failures are a result of failing to meet “democratic conditions” such as you need XX% of middle class voters, GDP per capita must be at least $X, literacy level must be at least X%, judiciary must be independent, media must be free etc.

Towards the late 2010s when even shinning democratic beacons such as western Europe and US got into more and more trouble with dubious leaders, the narrative changed to lambasting and attributing all major problems to a particular leader thereby implying that all will be well once said scumbag leader is removed. It didn’t work for US and neither will it work for UK.

I am now beginning to see some western intelligentsia resorting to yet another desperate attempt to deny the problem by using a bastardized version of Peter Lynch’s quote “A good company is one that is so well run even if an idiot takes over all will still be well”. The idea is all these screw ups by these dubious leaders and politicians don’t matter as a democratic country has systemic superiority and will continue to prosper no matter which idiots take charge.

The only people they are kidding is themselves end of the day. If the elites refuse to reform and continue to ignore the problems faced by the % masses, one day they are going to end up like Louis XVI.
