......

Lucasfilm’s parent company Disney announced earlier this month that it will shut down its VFX and animation studio, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), in Singapore after nearly 20 years of operations in the country.

Disney cited economic factors affecting the industry. ILM employs more than 300 people in Singapore.

One employee, who moved to Singapore to work at ILM more than a year ago, said that “no one really foresaw” the closure despite the recent problems globally.

......

He said work has significantly slowed down in recent months due to the ongoing Screen Actors Guild strike in the United States calling for higher pay and limits on the use of artificial intelligence.

The strike began in mid-July, on top of a film and television writers’ strike that began in May.

......

Earlier this year, Disney announced it would cut 7,000 jobs as part of efforts to save US$5.5 billion in costs and make its streaming business profitable.

......

Several VFX studios have filed for bankruptcy in recent years in an industry marred by brutal deadlines, slashed budgets, mass layoffs, and industry-wide burnout

All sexcuses nia, real reason ish Disney go full woke in the last decade and starting to destroy all it's popular IPs. of which their pixar animation and lucasart IPs are woke and fail the most, even Disney's new MsheU also no longer bring in the same load of cash that they used to enjoy from the old McU liao.

Disney also grew too greedy and started overcharging it's themepark and cruises business, becoming too overpriced for average people so most of it's customers switch over to it's competitors such as universal studio themepark and other cheaper cruises instead.

So no longer have the extra moola to fuel the other woke and fail projects such as those in Lucasart liao.

There was a time when the country asked ordinary men to do extraordinary things.

But now, they'll only do it for money.
