This changes EVERYTHING in AI.
Major Foundation model defeated by highly efficient smart model requiring a tiny fraction of cost and processing.

Like the Japanese, Taiwanese and the Koreans,  the Chinese and Asians are good at innovation.  Taking other people's designs and making them better and cheaper to sell.  Think the west will be very angry like what they did to the Japanese in the 80s.  Here are some comments from the Reddit forumers.

Don’t think the US can do much about other pple improving their technology and selling it cheaper than them.  I heard a story about one group of HK engineers went to the electronic fair to hunt 4 good product. Then they stripped the product down in their hotel rooms and produce drawings and make improvements for products to b manufactured in HK.  They then open another store in the same fair and selling them at half of the price.

Trading Economics:  In China, employed persons refer to who performed some work for one hour during the reference period.

Today's China is an entirely different breed from Mao's days.
Caucasian better wake up before it's too late.

If not for the recent internal power struggle, Alibaba, Tencent will be a superior advance tech entity by now.

I am not surprise one day, China make chip will be better than TSMC...😎

It's too exaggerating to claim it'll change everything in AI. But it's much cheaper and has leapfrogged chatgpt for sure

We have the X factor lah. Ang Moh only knows how to say yes or no in their conversion, but we will say yes, no or X?

Ang moh will not understand and think how come Chinese are fickle minded. We are not fickle minded. We are thinking deeper only lah.

Eg.
Ang Moh = Are you ready?
You will say either Yes or No?

Chinese= 你心中有数了吗?
有,没有,X(到时在看)?
会有第三个回复。
厉害的地方就是数这个字会变?
所以,我们的思维就会深一点,明白吗?

如果你问,准备好了吗?这就糟糕了。
你给自己设了陷阱。无法自救。

It only cost $5 million while Trump wants to start a mega $500 billion project to develop AI asking SoftBank owner to contribute $200 billion, Musk opposed it saying Open AI doesn’t have so much money.
