MANILA — Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte will no longer sit on the National Security Council after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr signed an order removing her office from the agency, following a bitter split between the two former allies last year.

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the reorganization of National Security Council (NSC), removing Vice President Sara Duterte as well as former presidents as members of the council.

Under Executive Order (EO) 81 he signed on Dec. 30, Marcos stressed the need to revamp the NSC to ensure that it is capable of handling "evolving" security and sovereignty issues.

EO 81, which was made public on Friday, takes effect immediately.  过河拆桥
