Chinese scientists claim to have developed heat-seeking hypersonic missiles - beating US to the punch
US General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said earlier this year during an interview that China’s hypersonic test in August was close to a “Sputnik moment” for the US.
Hope China will be able to make available cheap house-maid robots within the next 2 decades.
One that can do house chores, cooking and care-taking of bedridden elderly.
This will help address their rapidly ageing population.
Such home robots will definitely be cheaper in the long run vs a human helper even if it cost S$20-30K for one then.
e.g. Heard of a recent case where the helper started complaining of pelvic area discomfort. Just half a dozen of GP visits (in a HDB estate) clocked $600+, and this is even b4 reaching hospital for a thorough check. Was also told the hospitalisation coverage by a maid insurance with "max" coverage is a mere $20K. Thus for serious ailments like cancer, unlucky employers here will have to pay a bomb in the "unsubsidised" medical care here if they are not able to send the helper back home in time. Not a problem for the elites, but the huge medical bill can potentially bankrupt many middle-class families.
Many household chores (like cleaning, laundry washing and bathing disabled persons) do not require high precision.
The cheaper soft robotic hands and arms, using pneumatic or artificial muscles, will come in handy.

china manufacturing is still rely on labour intensive, most advanced & precision parts will never produce in china.
whether IC, lcd, mechatronic, lens, optical, equipments, tools.
huawei, xiaomi hp, 90% value of their parts are imported, probably only casing & low end no value elctronic parts are made inside china.
now even worse, most foreign factories are moving out due to communism, china is no more a world factory today & will dive down in time to come.
