Frankly China electricity control is due to the high price in coal supply now, and many of the heavy industries and also their power plant in China needed coal. Which is currently running short.

Ever since China and Australia went into a stalemate, China has since move to get the supply from Columbia, Indonesia, South Africa and Eastern Europe. And closer to them were from Mongolia or Inner Mongolia. The current state with the shortage of supply was due to the torrential rains in both Columbia and Indonesia, this resulted that the coal could not be shipped into China. While in South Africa was due to the logistics.

Right now there are talks between Russia and China, where the Russians will supply both coal and electricity into the Northeastern region of China.

So China doesn’t need to depend on Australia for a while.

Part of the control in electricity supply was also due to their preparation for the winter Olympic game in early next year. So the Chinese need to bring down the pollutions.

All the above news can be found in BBC, CNN and market watch report.

China secretly starting to use Australia coal
All of China's wolf warrior diplomacy and hard talk cannot hold a candle to their need to keep the lights on.

Quote from the Financial Times article attached. 450,000 tonnes is nearly 4 times the paltry shipment from Kazakhstan that was widely trumpeted in Chinese media.

"China has started unloading a small number of Australian coal shipments despite an unofficial import ban, analysts said, in a move underscoring the intensity of the power crunch facing the world’s second-largest economy.

Nick Ristic, lead dry cargo analyst at Braemar ACM Shipbroking, said a handful of Australian cargoes waiting outside Chinese ports since a ban came into force a year ago had headed into berth last month and draft change had been observed, indicating that the coal had been unloaded. He said 450,000 tonnes of coal had been discharged.

Energy research company Kpler also said a total of five vessels waiting offshore had discharged 383,000 tonnes of Australian thermal coal into China last month.

It is possible the discharged coal had been resold to other countries, but traders said this was unlikely because of signals from Chinese authorities that it would be allowed to clear customs."

Isn't it stupid to let Indians snatch away these coal ?

"
So far, policymakers in Beijing have not given any indication of whether China will resume importing Australian coal. Media reports last week said Indian firms snagged about 2 million tons of Australian coal at a discounted price that were sitting in Chinese warehouses.

China is making effort to tame the coal price. This is good news. The market is presently feeling the pressure. It is also time for the market to make a correction after coal price has risen more than 2.5 times in a short span of one year.

Correctly speaking, the slowing world economy caused by the Pandemic should cause a reduction in coal and energy demand. Clearly, this present increase in coal and energy prices started from the time China embargoed Australian coal.

The commodity price has always been governed by supply and demand. Any monetary or inflation effort will not suppress the price for long. Unfortunately, this rise in coal price has caused also oil and gas prices to increase, affecting many electricity consumers all over the World.

It is hoped that China can take a friendlier approach and take the corrective step to resolve this present energy crisis.

Why Biden keeps wanting to have dialogs with Xi Jinping? Biden is frantically wanting to meet. Why? Any way, with reduced production, angmo are more worried for the 3 coming festivals lining up until year-end.

Many of China's electricity supply are obtained by coal-fired generating stations.  Therefore with the lack of coal, many of these generating stations are unable to supply electricity to their many factories and residential premises.  Fortunately, the electricity from three gorges hydroelectric stations are able to supply Giga watts to some parts of China. China is also trying to reduce it's carbon footprints, by relying on oil-fired generating stations.  Perhaps China should consider the use of wind mill farms, solar power and nuclear power to feed it's ever expanding industries. With these methods of producing electrical energy, it is best to use renewable energy to make the  world a "greener" planet.... Big Grin

China should look into renewal energy, such as wind mill farms, solar cells  and hydroelectric power, and nuclear energy.  The world is trying it best to reduce the carbon footprint, and the burning of coal and oil-fired generating stations is polluting China's land.... Laughing

What blow back as SgFett said?

Just see from now until Christmas and new year in December, when without christmas purchase of the cheap Chinese goods, price will spiral up many times, inflation will break above the ceiling and interest rates forced to hike up. See who will get the blow up?

SgFett and those running dogs, read some words but not fully understand the full situation.
