Jamus wants to let the homeless Singaporeans have a right to own housing in the Singapore OR he wants a discount for those who can afford housing but just wanted something better?

"A right to housing in their own country" sounds like trying to fight for the homeless to have a home instead of getting discounts.

Anyway, I am ok with his suggestion on coming up with a different way to infer value of land that is hopefully better. But be prepared for the chasm between private housing and public housing to widen much further so that it becomes more difficult to upgrade to private housing from public housing as I think there will be more conditions in selling of public housing once a new value inference method came up.

Planning not just for isolated blocks of flats, the HDB built housing estates, providing residents with pleasant surroundings and easy access to basic amenities.The low rentals could not cover the cost of construction, hence the government provided the HDB with a housing subsidy.
