Kachin Independence Army takes control of Sinbo town after over running junta military base
Kachin army, accompanied by allies, seizes a heavily fortified govt Infantry Battalion camp, allowing resistance forces took over town south of the state capital. (KIA) now claimed to full control of Kachin State town of Sinbo on Monday after capturing nearby base of junta’s Infantry Battalion 141.
Sinbo located on banks of Ayeyarwady River, around 60 miles south of the state capital of Myitkyina in the township by the same name. KIA and allies first attacked junta targets in Sinbo Feb 10, & proceeded to seize control of town’s police station & also launched repeated assaults base 141 camp 3-miles west of town as recently as Sunday evening, & days earlier on April 26.
Junta soldiers & allied militia members who fled base sheltered inside one of protective outposts outside camp. By late morning Monday, outpost with the escaped junta personnel was also seized by too
