EPL-2021/2022 Start Today- Who will be the Champion

FT Leeds 1 Arsenal 4

Leeds got thrashed in only the game for weekend... Biesla team couldn't contain the interplay of Arsenal attacking talents in Martinelli Saka Odegaard Lacazette n S Rowe... the free flow of attacking football is slowly coming back to Arsenal after a few bumps in earlier games... they took their chances and made full of opportunities n won the game in dominant fashion...
A run of point for MC Liverpool...
As for MU they need to keep winning and maybe close in on Chelsea... they seem to stumble lately and good chance to overtake them...

Martinelli double n Saka got one near the interval ... seems like without Aubameyang this young Arsenal team defy the critics and man behind Arteta who made the right choice to drop the ill discipline...
Good combination towards both goals by Martinelli from Lacazette n Xhaka... especially from latter a through ball... quick thinking...

Yup! All 3 goals were beautifully executed.

Agreed. Yesterday match was excellent. Smith Rowe was arwsone. Just came in as substitution and immediately put the ball into the net. He has the knack for goals.

Tonight matches

Newcastle vs MC
Wolves vs Chelsea
Tottenham vs Liverpool

With Kevin DB on form after injury and their seven goals demolition of Leeds Magpies could be another punching bag?

As for the next two matches... perhaps could spring some surprises...
Wolves may cause an upset for Chelsea giving them an earlier Monday blues 😊

Tottenham have two games in hand and have ample training and energy to beat Liverpool... a test of character for the Reds

You were spot on.

Newcastle got a thrashing 4 to nil from MC
While Wolves and Spurs have managed to held Chelsea and Liverpool to a goalless and 2-2 draw respectively.

Let's see whether both Wolves and Spurs will make a turn from here next matches.

Boxing day matches... some games to lookout for

MC vs Leicester
Norwich vs Arsenal
Tottenham vs Crystal Palace
WHU vs Soto
AVL vs Chelsea

Somehow I feel Leicester may hold MC to a draw... 🤔

No doubt Arsenal has found their stride between their young players and Arteta is ready to get rid off Aubameyang... Good match for them to grab Christmas points... Martinelli n S Rowe may continue their scoring streak

If Conte has instill his magic in Tottenham then this game can prove his philosophy... CP not a push over team... if they can find their rhythm in game... hard to break them down

Simple as that WHU need to win this game as they had a fair share poor run in last few games... bet they can do so

Chelsea could face a tough fight with AVL... with Stevie G team gaining momentum as games go by their fighting spirit emulates just like Gerrard... hope they put a further dent in Chelsea run up the table... could b a draw 😊

Boxing Day goal feast... certainly living up to that happy occasion... lol

MC 6 Leicester 3
Norwich 0 Arsenal 5
Tottenham 3 Crystal Palace 0
WHU 2 Soto 3
AVL 1 Chelsea 3

MC setting a precedent... playing without target man? All the attacking players are playing that role...quality of the players no doubt.. Leicester defence has no answer to that... they had almost close the gap but simply couldn't cope... compounded by some players absence...

One match to note was WHU... they are slipping at the wrong time... the loss of zouma and key defenders left them finding no capable solutions to deal with it...

Reserved comments on Tottenham... one game win difference hinges on a winning streak for the rest of the campaign...

Yup! A feast full of goals coming in the 2nd half.

Din expect Saints to be on scoring mood. Hope WestHam will not continue to slide down in tomorrow match against Watford.

Today match Newcastle vs MU.
MU should continue their winning streak.

A very dismal disjointed and absolutely poor poor performance by MU standards... add salt to wound they were trailing from an early goal! Flabbergasted... no attacking penetrative passes from midfield and wing plays... just like a stroll in the park... disaster...
Considering Magpies were being slaughtered in earlier matches... they were only unlucky to win this match...they were the hungrier side... in the end DDG and Cavani saved MU blushes...

Ralf certainly has a big task ahead of him... six months a tall order... need a really huge drawing board to reshape MU from bottom to top... chopping board in Jan if need be

Matches coming up @ 11pm

Crystal Palace vs Norwich
Soto vs Tottenham
Watford vs WestHam
Leicester vs Liverpool

With Zaha being suspended CP may still get a win over Norwich...

Will Soto buoyed by their win and scrape one against Spurs?

Hammers need to stem their downward spiral against Watford... but will the Hornets sting them till immobile?

Crystal Palace 3 Norwich 0
Soto 1 Tottenham 1
Watford 1 WestHam 4
Leicester 1 Liverpool 0

Spurs couldn't capitalise on the one man advantage over Soto and managed a drab draw... credit to Soto in defending well against Spurs... magic can't b reproduced against 10 man Soto...

The Foxes manage to outwit the Reds with Salah glaring missing a rebound pk... heading the woodwork... Leicester could have been two goals down at least but Kasper proves a worthy gk... making crucial saves...

Chelsea 1 BHA 1

Chelsea faltered in their quest for EPL title with a home draw against Brighton

An early header by Lukaku looked set to have secure the three points for the Blues but thanks to former MU striker Welbeck who nodded in a goal near the end... seemingly to take a point off at Stamford Bridge is a tall task but credit to Brighton who gave themselves a good account and hold off the Blues...

With injuries piling up Chelsea could see their title hopes further derailed when tough games coming up for them next in Liverpool and MC

tomorrow will be a better day

MU 3 Burnley 1

Closing year win... Good strikes from Mctominay and Sancho... Cr7 took a rebound from Mctominay to end the first half three goals up...

Positive performance from them to ring in a new year? Perhaps Cavani started the match and gave an assurance and experience upfront... Mctominay was driving the midfield after back from injury and Shaw was reinstated at left back.

Going into 2022 MU need to charge up the table to gather more points as possible... though MC is way leading the title charge... somehow MU need to get back to their consistent run and take some shine off their neighbours 😊

Arsenal 1 MC 2

Young Gunners blew their chance in holding the leaders to a draw with one man disadvantage owing to their immaturity n tenacity in playing against stronger teams like MC... individuals errors n temperament need to be checked but it was expected for Arteta rebuilding a team and they need to learn from it...

Rodri got the scrappy winning goal that was needed to seal another vital three points... Mark of a champion? Despite playing as many games as compared to Arsenal they have the character n hunger to get one over in marching to the title...

Now the race is on for remaining three champions leag spot...

Yup! Getting interesting with West Ham winning the match against CP 3-2.

The coming matches  on Mon and Tues btwn Chelsea vs Liverpool and MU vs Wolves will be interesting.

Arsenal, WestHam,  Spurs and MU are closing in on each other tails.

Chelsea 2 Liverpool 2

An entertaining first half of the game saw Chelsea fought back against Liverpool who took the lead early with suspecting Chelsea defence... give an inch to Salah and he replied with a goal...

Chelsea equalised with two well taken volleys in Kovacic n Pulisic... especially Kovacic with aplomb... the game could have swung to both sides winning the game n close the gap of MC with Liverpool stand in gk producing a reflective save and Mendy super flying save...

This game gave a boost to MC but also to teams chasing runner ups... as u mentioned those teams will need to fire on all cylinders especially MU

Mathematically at this juncture impossible to overtake MC but more games ahead perhaps they could falter along the way...hopefully  Big Grin

What a shame... just as mentioned earlier need to go back to a big drawing board... dispirited no intention lack of hunger character n most importantly d desire to win... simply woeful performance to sum it up... just when teams above them r dropping points MU having games in hands these r the games to garner more points n secure position but they threw it away...

Starting with Jones in defence is suicidal ... complete disaster why he's still at MU is a mystery... whenever he plays or touch a ball he will guarantee the opponents a goal and this match proves otherwise...

Ralf would really need to get more out of his players and know their strengths n weaknesses...either he doesn't have players support or the players r uncommitted...

Nevertheless credit to Wolves... even with their best players sold... they r still holding up pretty well in the leag... they r a tough team to beat n this match they deserve the points Clapping

Yup! It was an entertaining match. Just when I thought that liverpool has secured the 3 pts came the Chelsea goals in quick succession at the end of 1st half. That give hope for Chelsea to make a come-back win after the break. But the goals did not come.  Either side could have win the match. Nevertheless, it was an exciting match and only fair that both take a pt each.

Later at 3.45am Chelsea will play against Spurs in the EFL Cup 1st leg Semi-Final. I think the out-come will be a draw or a Chelsea will win.

MU performance really is terrible. One of those day where they are underperforming.
Yeah! totally agree that Wolves is holding pretty well this season. With this win, Wolves has now join the fray for the remaining 3 top positions. They will be on par with MU on PL table if they can beat Saints on the15 Jan. Lets see if they can do it.

Good game by Chelsea as they created many chances but may rue not putting in more goals in this first leg match capped by an own Ben Davies goal... the return of Lukaku added an attacking dimension and this match shows his worth to the team...
Spurs imo like a Jekyll n Hyde team... seems like they r more interested in climbing up the prem leag table than winning this cup...  Big Grin as it always been touted as a lower competition
Nevertheless they have the return leag at home for another London rivalry and Conte can weave his magic wand... but would prove difficult

WHU 2 Norwich 0

Bowen doubles ensure the Hammers climb up the table... in contention of Champions league football if they could stay injury free n produce consistent work...
Both Antonio n Bowen have high work rate n don't have the galactico tag to produce results ... potential move to big clubs if they can prove themselves week in out...
Moyes may have proven his doubters wrong with WHU n hope he continues this way... too bad his stint at MU was wrong timing plus the demand of instant results prove a deterrence to his work...

Next up MU away to AVL... Will b a tough match though they narrowly won against them in the cup game... producing a dismay display... AVL will have nothing to lose n pressure will b on MU to win... win they must as they have catch up as fast as possible... no room to lose more points as Spurs Wolves Arsenal r in for the running of champions league spot

MC 1 Chelsea 0

MC leads the table with wide gap of 13 pts after this win...
A stunning goal curled by Kevin d Bruyne in 2nd half silence the efforts by the Blues to crawl back a draw n halt MC marching further up d table...
A tale of misgiving as Lukaku was singled out for not trying hard enough in offensive... record signing of 95mil returns a paltry goal return... perhaps wrong positioning or not enough assists from teammates... who cares... all we care is they lose more points and MU can catch up 😁

A close and nail biting win for Norwich as they got it over the Toffees in quick succession... Michael Keane scoring an own goal adding more woes to Rafa Benitez... despite Richarlison equalising... they failed in search for the leveller playing more of extra minutes...
This season stop gap momentum may see them missing out Europa Cup competition  Confused

What a match. Aston Villa made a good comeback with 2 goals within 4 mins to level the score to 2-2. Goals scored by Ramsey and the Brazilian P. Continho in the 77' and 81' respectively. MU was very unfortunate not able to hold on to the win.  Next match for MU will be against Brentford. Hope they will not falter.
