This is unlikely.
In a trade war the country with the massive trade surplus suffers to most.

Unless China wants to lose it should de escalate.

The EV sanctions are due to the potential effects on its car industry that may be wiped out by cheap imports. China had previously heavily subsidised state linked manufacturers in its "Made in China" 2025 plans which cause state funds to be channel to various industries  such as Green industry..

Anyway China protect its own industry through various regulation lole social media, Internet industries, banking etc.

If Xi continues his way of doing things he will take China downa and China citizens will suffer negative economic effects.

Same as in the USA case.    When Trump slammed hefty tariffs on Chinese goods,  many said it would backfire as US consumers would bear the "blunt".  Then those critics did not know there were many ways to handle that "blunt". A country will go all the way and do everything to stop the threat if their "bread-and-butter" is affected.

After that the US economy is stronger than ever with too many jobs openings and revival of 2000 manufacturing companies.

The guy in the video is incorrect.

It is not wrong to say tt the party who has excessive surpluses will always lose in a trade war. The alternative is to start a war. Japan faced the same situation in the 80s, they exercise restrains instead and continue to ‘rule’ in the car industry until China took over with the EV. LEARN.
