The different strategies of BYD and Tesla.  BYD is going for market share in terms of numbers by making only about USD1,250 per car whereas Tesla is going for profit by making about 7 times of BYD at about USD 8,250 per car.

https://carnewschina.com/2024/04/09/byd-...-all-else/

Presently,  BYD and its other peers are cutting each other throats by lowering the price of cars.  This can be seen from this financial chart where BYD is putting the company at risk of going bankrupt if there are calls for BYD to repay its short-term loans or if the company is having a financial hiccup. Would like to see the end results.

Filling up our car with petrol takes a mere 5 minutes. Charging an EV takes up to an hour using the latest rapid chargers. What happens when we need to rush off to work, an important appointment or for a medical emergency?

EV car still has not implemented Solar panel design.
This will alleviate long charging time issue.

An EV produces zero emissions, but the method of electricity production has a direct impact on the environment. Producing the lithium-ion battery pack is more harmful to the environment than manufacturing most petrol-powered cars.

EV to replace petrol or hybrid car has a long way to go. Especially for the bigger country with huge car population selling at low prices.

A small city nation like Singapore has a better chance of success. Easier to install enough charging stations to fulfil our small vehicles population.
Our travelling distance per trip is shorter.
And our COE 10 years expiry date also match EV vehicles short battery life span. Until today, no one can know what is the battery replacement cost affects the resale EV car market price.

Our buses operation can arrange night charging. Or battery switching technology.
