Ah Tiong took over Southern China where their ancestors used to live, similarly Malays, Thais and Vietnamese also relocated from southern China to where they are now when China’s First Emperor conquered southern China 2000 years ago, northern Chinese soldiers settled down in Fujian, Guangdong and Guangxi, married local Yue girls and created modern southern Chinese.

The first human inhabitants of SE Asia and Australia were the dark skin negritos/aborigines.
The fairer skin filipinos that we commonly see in Spore are the later migrants from Southern China.

Thais should be the last group that left Southern China as IndoChina was under the Khmer Empire up to around 1000 years ago.
Interestingly ancestors of the Khmers and the Bataks in Sumatra, could also be earlier migrants from Southern China:

From China doesn’t mean they are Chinese, Southern China was a different world 2000 years ago, hundreds of Yue tribes used to live there until Han Chinese from northern China conquered the south, most of them fled to Southeast Asia….those tribes that stayed on mixed blood with Han Chinese, which created modern Southern Chinese.

They are not Yue. It depends on the era when they move out.
As only around 2500yrs ago from Qin onwards, Qin then start to move south.
Anything before that should battle among those early settlers for supremacy.
Filipino should have big chunk from Indonesia islands
and few north pacific travelers.
