current taiwan pro independent government think that they can hold till us army arrive to help defend taiwan
the truth. after us army arrived, how long will they be there?
recent history said us after a while will exit the country.
north korea invasion defeated by north korea and chinese.
vietnam war exit after many years when too many us died.
iraq war leave after killing sadam.
afghanistan. leave after many years when the us president changed. leaving afghanistan people who supported us to be there to fall into teliban hand. pain pain for those people.
now ukraine. think how long can they last? only some small number of military advisers and professional soldiers said to be there. ukraine boy dying by the lorry load.
war need money, arms and people.
so far us has become smarter by using other country people and long distance arm to avoid sending us boy into direct fire.
the ballon incident has changed expectations that if a war break out direcly with china. war will happen in us land directly. that may not be acceptable to their voters as what so important about taiwan that they get hit. some loud voice us law maker is pro war because they no need to go into the battle ground. if their home is under direct threat of war that will change a lot of thinking and voices.
us government has hit their debt limit again. the world has become a bit worry of the us government ability to pay. their debt to gdp ratio is now 120%. usd is losing it status as world currency with many countries now choosing to use their own currency for trade and shift towards a basket of currency as reserve.
even if us create problem else where for a run of safety to stable currency, usd is not the only choice now. we see gold, bitcoin becoming alternatives.
us has no money how to support a war. their current budget on military is already > $700b how much more if they cannot borrow as much as in the past?
after ukraine war sanctions has left europe hurt economically. some has voice out that us has benefited from europe high gas price due to sanctions. us still in control of nato, but is losing friends.
the us used of ngo to do government change has alerted other countries. if us can do ngo effort so can others. china can well build their equivalent and cause a party change to one that unifications.
that will be best as no war. no people killed. no economic amagedon for the world as taiwan is a major chip and electronics maker.
conclusion. all countries has to depend on themselves for defence. foreign forces are not reliable one especially the government changes after a few years. no one will spend money, their people life to fight your war.
the so called communist threat is not so much felt now. major socialist/communist countries basically changing to a social-capitalist type with 1 party democratic or multi parties democratic election system.
socialism is not a viable long term solution for human.
