Hazel Poa suggests having multiple versions of banking apps with different security features

During the Parliament sitting on January 10, amidst a series of speeches about scams, trust and building an inclusive digital society, NCMP Hazel Poa suggested for banks to develop multiple different apps to manage the tradeoff between financial security and freedom. She added that if a customer suffers a loss due to an online scam, the bank’s liability should be commensurate to the level of security implemented in that customer’s app.

Bring back the physical token.

Mobile apps can be frustrating to use.

A physical token would provide a tangible sense of security and control.
