Too bad China still hasn't open up, otherwise retirees can escape the heat n haze by flying over to Yunan and stay in one (or more) of its many scenic cities/towns.
Like this Lijiang hostel that only charges S$600 per person per month (twin sharing), with all 3 meals provided.
Very affordable for most Sporeans even after paying for airfare n visa extension.
