Nothing surprising.....until now maybe 100K singaooreans have retired there.

He looks very young. A bit too young to retire.

Hossan mentioned in the video interview that he is already 55, but in the world of entertainment, he may carry on for more than a decade in a background role.

Sinkies have been spoilt by living in probably the safest country in the world, so anywhere else ( including JB ) is viewed to be as dangerous as a cowboy town.

If S'poreans wish to stretch their dollar, living in JB is a viable alternative since we may still commute to SG for work ( especially those who WFH 2-3 days per week ) while remaining relatively close to our loved ones. How else will 80% of Sinkies ever live in a private residence or spend freely in the most expensive and overcrowded country in the world?

The fear of getting robbed in JB is nothing compared to having our money systematically siphoned away by Pay And Pay in SG.

It's a good move or him. I think he still does hosting for corporate events, so he can come out only when he has a gig.

S'poreans cannot be faulted for wanting more value for their hard earned money, more spacious/comfortable homes, the convenience of having a car and wide open spaces. Living in JB is viable if one is retired, semi-retired or WFH 2-3 days a week.

For long-term stay, China is a better place for retirement.
