If one can get a long term stay visa, staying in Jilin 珲春 will be a good place to interact with the Russians tourists.
One can also hop over to Vladivostok for short trips.
Alternatively finding a Russian gf or wife will be even better. Cost of living in Russia is much lower if one can tahan the extreme cold:
