My area all $0.90 to $1.20 per stick, last time 50cents eat many sticks like affordable, now satays are like once in a blue moon type of indulgence to me.

Buy those prepacked storage ones. Cook at home, they taste similar. It is the sotong that is hard to cook.

The mutton taste too strong for me.  You are right it is thicker and more meat but I prefer our version of sweetness.

satay I love it but now a days never eat much. Partly come coffeeshop, and most just using the oven , mico wave to cook
but the traditional ways using charcoal to BBQ it. Because other hawkers will complain the smoke also coffeeshop owner.
Back in good old days 80s , I still remember my parents always order 50 pieces or 100 pieces, eat till dam Shiok! That time my side the hawkers are located soley one side, thus they satay stall owners can use charcoal BBQ it.

later price got increase slowly as years gone by , so eat less and less often.
