Impeachment bid against Raeesah Khan rejected: Court finds no
17-10-2024, 09:35 AM
The Court wouldn't dare impeach the govt's star witness whom they know is a traitor and serial liar, who will do anything to save her own skin.

I thought she was charged for lying in parliament? So they allow a liar to testify as witness in court?

Now enter day 4 of the court trial...
DPP asks Raeesah Khan how she would have prepared for Oct 4, 2021, Parliament sitting if Pritam had asked her to come clean
Deputy Public Prosecutor Sivakumar Ramasamy asks Ms Raeesah Khan how she would have prepared for the Oct, 4, 2021, Parliament sitting if Pritam Singh had told her to clarify the untruth during their meeting the night before.
He references her statement on the third day of the trial, where she said she would have prepared a statement if Singh had told her to tell the truth during Parliament, but she did not because he had not.
Ms Khan says she would have prepared a statement similar to the one she delivered on Nov 1, 2021, where she confessed that the anecdote was a lie.
She adds that she would have sent the draft to the Workers’ Party leaders and then cadres Loh Pei Ying and Yudhishthra Nathan. “We may even have had a meeting before the sitting itself.”

Prosecution asks Raeesah to elaborate on why she did not confront Pritam or Sylvia Lim over maintaining the lie
Deputy Public Prosecutor Sivakumar Ramasamy refers to defence lawyer Andre Jumabhoy’s questions to Ms Raeesah Khan about her meeting with Pritam Singh and Ms Sylvia Lim on Oct 4, 2021, after she repeated her lie in Parliament.
Mr Jumabhoy had asked Ms Khan if she never told Singh or Ms Lim that she was “only in this mess because of what they told (her) to do”, to which she agreed.
Mr Ramasamy continues to say that she then told the defence she never spoke to Singh and Ms Lim “in that sort of way”. He asks Ms Khan to explain what she meant by that.
“I never spoke to them in a confrontational way, we didn’t have that kind of relationship,” she tells him. She explains that it came across as them giving her advice and “you just kind of accept it and you move on”.
Mr Ramasamy also asks Ms Khan to explain her reference to a power imbalance between her and the Workers’ Party leaders.
“It’s like a conversation with your bosses,” she says. “You don’t, you wouldn’t confront your bosses with their own mistake. That’s what I meant by power imbalance.”

Relationship with Pritam was good: Loh Pei Ying
DPP Ben Mathias Tan asks Ms Loh Pei Ying what she did during her tenure as secretarial assistant for Pritam Singh.
She says she mainly organised his meet-the-people sessions, rostered volunteers weekly and “set up shop” as Workers’ Party MPs did not have a fixed office. She also assisted with drafting and fact-checking letters to be sent to various Government agencies.
The DPP then asks what her relationship with Singh was like during this period.
“I would say it was a professional one, we were friendly... there was no sort of, no, it was good,” says Ms Loh.
She says they “worked well together”, keeping most of their conversations centred around her secretarial assistant work. She adds that they barely met outside party matters.
“I would bump into him at events I was volunteering at, but it was a professional relationship,” she says.
Ms Loh was later Ms Khan’s secretarial assistant.

It is obviously aiming at a key figure that is more important instead of that true liar.

Politicians love to make use of people to serve their own ends. Raeesah Khan will be chewed up and spat out once this case is over, and she has lost her usefulness to the ruling party.

With the new development and LOH admission of her lie
Pitram’s legal team should try for another impeachment of Khan
Very impressed with this Jumabhoy
CECAwaran should have hired him instead of Bayi
Maybe will get only few weeks jail
Also very surprised that Pitram’s father is a former district judge who happens to be part of Pitram legal team
Like that, he sure to advise the team the thinking behind a judge and what he or she would be wanting to hear
