India as new superpower could spell trouble for the West
#1

India is expected to overtake Germany in terms of GDP in 2025 and Japan in 2027 to become the third largest economy after the U.S. and China.

Unlike China, India has been proud of being "the world's largest democracy," but its actions in recent years seem to suggest that it is drifting away from democracy as its power grows. If the 21st Century turns out to be India's era, rather than China's, the world would find itself dealing with a superpower that is no less troublesome.

India isn’t even anywhere near being a superpower and we can already see now that the western camp is laying the ground work for its smearing campaign. Although there is a propensity for Indians to bloviate, generally they are improving and are slowly materializing as  a threat to the west.

That is why we are seeing less and less of the patronizing nonsense like “world’s largest democracy”, “friend of the freedom loving countries”, “India to replace China” etc. I reckon if India continues its current growth trajectory in a decade’s time, the narrative would have completely changed with much more hostile anti-India voices appearing in their mainstream media and politicians’’ pronouncements.

As long as India behaves as "a good-boy" in the eyes of West, they will play "nice".

The British experienced such previlage in this boy-Master relation for over a hundred of years..So it hard for the West to accept Indian as equal...  The Nikkei Jap author should know this well when his own (abnormal) country act more of a vassal state of America...
