Interesting data...

Interesting data: In the last 14 days (8-21 July 2021), there was a total of 833 cases in the age groups 12yrs - above 70 yrs old.

646 (78%) came from the vaccinated groups.
I.e. 373 (45%) were fully vaccinated
+ 273 (33%) were partially vaccinated
Only 187 (22%) came from the unvaccinated group.

Here is the breakdown by age groups:
70+yrs: 59 cases
45 FULLY VAXXED (76% in this group)
4 Partially vaxxed (7%)
10 Unvaccinated (17%)

61-70yrs: 130 cases
112 FULLY VAXXED (86%)
6 Partially vaxxed (5%)
12 Unvaccinated (9%)

40-60yrs: 235 cases
146 FULLY VAXXED (62%)
59 Partially vaxxed (25%)
30 Unvaccinated (13%)

19-39yrs: 400 cases
Note: As vaccination for this group was only rolled out not too long ago, many are waiting for their 2nd dose or to be declared fully vaccinated.
70 FULLY VAXXED (18%)
199 Partially vaxxed (49%)
131 Unvaccinated (33%)

12-18yrs: 9 cases
5 Partially vaccinated
4 Unvaccinated

Looking at the extremely high % of fully vaccinated who got infected in the seniors group, can you blame them when they realise the Govt misled them in the beginning by proclaiming that being fully vaccinated will protect them from infection and transmission?

Now the Govt says symptoms will be less. The full data of this experiment has yet to prove that. Will seniors believe them again? They are weighing whether the benefits outweigh the risks if they come down with vaccine adverse reactions and be tossed aside heartlessly with no clear link excuses?

ICU:
1 unvaxxed. No change since the spike on 14th July. This is 0.1% as of 21 July (from the 948 cases of the last 28 days).

Needing OXYGEN: Increase of 2 since yesterday 21 July 2021.
1 from partially vaxxed and 1 from unvaxxed.
Currently 2 Partially vaxxed: This is 0.21% of the 948 cases of the last 28 days.
5 from Unvaccinated:. This is 0.53% of the 948 cases of the last 28 days.

As of 21 July 2021, 99.94% (63,585) have recovered from a total of 63,621 cases. There have been 36 deaths as at 21 July 2021.

Wow. Good effort!

Problem is sample size is not big enough and not random enough. So only a rough guide.

Still it shows a vaccine breakthrough like Indonesia which Ah Mak whacked on. Now he got to whack P & M but he will sure say sample size is not big enough and not random enough as above. Not conclusive.

Worse than I expected... 78% is way higher than the vaccinated rate of 50%.

Vaccinated getting infected is likely because of shedding and immune system crippled by the mRNA unable to defend against Delta variant...

Unvaccinated is low likely because as they are unvaccinated they took precautions more religiously and avoided crowded area.

Hence, the only effective way to stop this covid is for everyone to stay isolated at home for extensive period till covid virus dies off like what happened during SARS.

0.1% is extremely low for the unvaccinated. The recent covid outbreak among the unvaccinated crews of a SKorean navy destroyer saw an ICU rate of 4.8%.

So either many here have been exposed to a less-potent cold virus in the past or the theory that masking lowers severity is true (low initial dose gives the body enough time to recognise the virus and fights it before latter overwhelms the body). Also lack of Vit D could be another reason for the high ICU rate on the SK warship.

Does Virus Dose or Load Predict How Sick You Get With COVID-19?
https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousd...id19/88692
Quote:Writing in the New England Journal of Medicine, Monica Gandhi, MD, and George Rutherford, MD, of the University of California in San Francisco, hypothesized that widespread population masking may act as a sort of "variolation," exposing individuals to a smaller amount of viral particles and producing an immune response.

Gandhi told MedPage Today that the viral inoculum, or the initial dose of virus that a patient takes in, is one likely determinant of ultimate illness severity. That's separate from patients' subsequent viral load, the level of replicating virus as measured by copies per mL.

The "variolation" hypothesis holds that, at some level, the inoculum overwhelms the immune system, leading to serious illness. With less than that (and the threshold may vary from one person to the next), the individual successfully fights off the infection, with mild or no clinical illness.

South Korean PM apologizes as 250 seamen test positive on Covid-ridden destroyer, 12 in critical condition
https://www.rt.com/news/529690-southkore...id19-moon/
Quote:South Korea’s prime minister and defense minister have issued an apology for government failings as hundreds of Covid-19-positive sailors were flown to Seoul after their navy destroyer was plagued by the virus.

“I apologize for having failed to take better care of the health of our soldiers who devoted themselves to the country,” Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum told a government meeting on Tuesday, vowing to take better care of the seamen. Kim promised treatment and recovery support for the crew, 12 of whom are in critical condition.
...
Nearly 250 of the 301 crew have tested positive for the virus, making it the country’s largest Covid-19 cluster. All 301 were repatriated on Tuesday, with some requiring treatment. The critically ill have been taken to hospital, while others have been taken to treatment and isolation centers.

Yah, many factors to consider. Can't really tell from this small sample.

Luckily the vaccines can protect against severe symptoms. That's the most important consideration now. As long as ICU beds are not overwhelmed.

Let's see how MOH and Mak have to say.....
