btw some MRT staff are probably relived as their jobs are temporary saved.
I wouldn't say SimplyGo has no benefit, just that its benefits are not really conveyed to the public. I must say that the public comms failed miserably.
SimplyGo has the benefit of storing the value of the card in the servers, so that even if you lose the card you dun lose the value.
What the govt can do better is:
i). Inform public of the advantages of the new system
ii). Make the transition period to SimplyGo-only longer, so that once majority of people have migrated, they could remove ezlink

Another benefit to the LTA not to customers would be the ease to extract customers trend and stats aka big data analytics for the business user which include policy makers for any new initiatives they want to embark on. Why I know is my last job has many such request we call it data extraction. The parameters and criteria are all different for each request. Having the data at the backend server is good.

You seriously believe that he thinks we're his boss
Civil service is like one colossal elephant. Many things are decided way in advance of the actual pushing out of actions, so I guess even CHT can't escape this. I'm not saying that he could totally shirk responsibility, but I think the main culprit is Iswaran...

Regardless, the decision to U-Turn seems like the worst worst action plan.
