don;t be so stupid to drive up cost and inflation via universal. that means everyone include foreigners. pr. house helper. that will drive up cost. then the lower income sin people become worse off.
now with lower income cpf supplement, voucher etc is helping singaporean only. must stay that way.
can give more to sin citizens.
if benefits spread to foreigners than each singaporean get lesser. what is benefits to be singaporean. do ns meh?

1. How do we know that a universal wage would definitely drive up inflation?
2. Couldn’t a well-designed system include wage support for citizens only, while excluding non-citizens?
3. Is it possible that increasing the floor for everyone’s wage might reduce reliance on subsidies in the long run?
4. What if giving all workers a fair wage actually reduces inequality — including for low-income Singaporeans?
5. Couldn’t the current CPF top-ups and vouchers be expanded alongside a wage reform, not replaced by it?
6. Are there other ways to protect citizens’ interests without excluding people who also contribute to society?
7. What would happen if helpers and PRs were better paid — would that actually benefit Singaporeans too in terms of stability and productivity?
8. How do we ensure the system remains fair, while also being sustainable and inclusive?

I think it is necessary to plan ahead given that AI will replace at least 50% of workforce in the next 3 to 5 years. There is not enough jobs current or future available for people to transit into. I echo the same message that Elon Musk said so long ago that universal income has to be issued by govt given the paradigm shift of technology breakthrough.
The end result of this universal income should be a mix of CDC vouchers and some cash outlay and the universal income should be last drawn pay or max of median income per pax. The min universal income should be based on current minimum wage.

labour cost is part of business. so if foreign labour become more expensive inflation follows. just like each time gov increased foreign worker levy.
