Singaporeans have a 3rd world mentality?

1.  Earning the second highest wages after Japan this side of the globe.
2.  Going to exotic far away countries for vacations
3.  Meals at HDL, DTF and various atas places....you'd only see boomers eating cai png at coffee shops...
4.  Living in cleaned up estates and apartments which would make Hong Kongers see red
5.  State of the art buses and mrt trains
6.  Very comfortable public libraries all over the island, we have about 30 public libraries.  Try finding one in KL or JB.
7.  Women can walk home late at night safely.
8.  World class healthcare
9.  Elderly friendly fittings at public places, even lifts to bring them up overhead bridges.
10.  State of the art nursing homes with AI being introduced...senior activity centres, and various projects for active aging
11.  Workfare to help lower income Singaporeans
12.  An office and staff for the LOTO  Big Grin

Which of the above is 3rd world?  The LOTO?  Rotfl

Unfortunately it's more likely whole world doesn't care.

SG is known as the "Switzerland of the East".

This is not a compliment if you know anything about what Switzerland's reputation is particularly in the financial world.

First coined by an American writer who used it to describe a fictional location in his book cabbages and kings based on his experiences in Honduras, the phrase initially described the economic exploitation of Central American countries by US corporations such as the United Fruit Company, who are the main oligarchic structures dominating the cultivation harvesting and exploitation of bananas.

This practice however was not contained in Latin America as it has shown to be too profitable for business owners to be thrown out of the window because of some humanitarian concerns because as we’re all aware the obsession with profit is the main driving force of corporate capitalism, maintaining the illusion of a healthy functioning system in its center while exploiting developing nations at its periphery with the continuation of such business practices deep into the 20th century.

This structure with a large impoverished working class and a ruling class to autocracy composed of the business political and military elite in society which controls the primary sector of the economy through the exploitation of labor has been shaped into something that closely resembles medieval feudalism.

Such a collision of governments and private monopolies contributes to what we call crony capitalism which with the principles of predatory neoliberalism has come to dominate the world economy in waves.

Looking at a woman with lust is a sin but the police is not going to handcuff any man for that if he does nothing that acts on the lust.  Is a woman wearing revealing or seductive clothes committing a crime?  If so, then Singapore alone has hundreds and hundreds of thousands of criminals.

A peektrue says a hundred thousand words.

It is not a crime for a woman to walk along Orchard Road from ION to Istana wearing this,  But if a man wears something which shows one quarter of his kkj, he will be arrested by mata.

This is Man's law.

But they are sins under God's law, both the man and the woman.

Enjoy!

If this woman is committing a sin in God's eye, then I'm glad I'm a godless heathen who doesn't want to go to heaven anyway.

"We regret and are deeply disappointed by the actions that we now know to have taken place at the Group's offshore and marine business in Brazil from around 2001 to 2014,” said Lee Boon Yang, chairman of Keppel Corp, parent of Keppel O&M.

“Since the allegations emerged, we have moved quickly and decisively to put in place stricter controls and embedded best practices across the group to ensure that such unacceptable behavior will not be repeated.""
