China is the only country now in this world that is still practicing LOCKDOWNs.  This is a very primitive method.  But they did it with a twist; LOCKDOWNS plus mass testings.  This is a topic where one can argue about until kingdoms come and cows come home.   

LOCKDOWN was the method used widely all over the world initially.  Many countries practicing LOCKDOWNs before are now moving away from it and decided to live with the COVID.  The Politicians in these countries must be very sick about having daily protests in the street when they used only the LOCKDOWN method.

LOCKDOWN has the effect of "killing or wiping out" the infection in the Community. It is the very first thing we would do when we have no other alternatives.  Massing testings achieve about the same except it causes much lesser pain to the residents.  This latter method has been used in European countries early this year.  They experienced infection rose exponentially without straining the health service.  They use Antigen testings and PCR testings in combination. This is what Singapore is presently doing. 

Whether this mass testing without the LOCKDOWN is a better alternative,  only time will tell.  Again,  this can be another topic that many can debate until cows come home.

The doctor did not explain why the life expectancy in China during the pandemic is about the same as in the US at 83.   Rightly speaking,  if there are so many Covid death in the US,   the life expectancy in the US should be much lower than that in China.
