In 2015, Malaysian gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi rebuked Muslim Internet trolls who criticised her for wearing revealing clothing at the SEA Games. Many of her countrymen slammed her by claiming they could see the shape or her genitalia in her leotard. The double gold medallist was disappointed with her countrymen, but Malaysia's Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin said: "In gymnastics Farah wowed the judges and brought home gold. "In her deeds only the Almighty judges her. Not you. Leave our athletes alone."

I was not surprised to see staff at Sunway Lagoon in KL prevent Indian women in sarees from wading knee deep into the water, while Malay women were swimming in long sleeve T-shirts and track pants.
