This is such a tragic incident. No parent should ever lose a young child under such circumstances. This accident was preventable as the helper should have held onto both children. How can a 4-year-old girl be allowed to walk ahead of the caregiver when there are roads that need to be crossed?

The Indonesia Maid agency is not at fault

Rather the Singapore Agency and NTUC who train the maids in the first week

They should also be charged

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

Every time driving past that road would remind me of this accident. So far nothing is done to improve the road like rumble road strips to slow down the traffic or a sign to alert the pedestrians

Very harsh to charge the maid. In the first place, is the role of the maid even outside of the house? I thought the employer is not even supposed to ask their maid to wash their cars. Secondly, kids often have a mind of their own and they can't always be stopped from doing dangerous things.

The mother should be charged for negligence.
