There are still many stupid people who wish for the COE premiums to keep rising since they do not own a car, but they are too stupid to realise that the cost of living will go up as all businesses rely on transportation, so business costs will increase, and be passed onto ALL consumers.

The billions of dollars collected by the Govt for COE premiums, ERP, road tax and other fees from car owners are used to subsidise public transportation for the hoi polloi. The higher SES citizens are helping the masses through both direct and indirect taxation.

Our leaders are using the divide and rule strategy which breaks up existing power structures which prevent smaller power groups from linking up. This causes rivalries and sows discord among the people to prevent a rebellion against the elites or the govt implementing this strategy.
