1. Claiming NTUC work = strong constituency service

Why bullshit: NTUC mainly focuses on macro-level labor policies and union-company negotiations. Running a ward and managing local municipal, personal, and ground issues (e.g., drainage, estate maintenance, daily resident problems) is very different. There's little direct correlation.



2. Implying NTUC track record = guaranteed local benefits

Why bullshit: Many Singaporeans already feel NTUC has drifted into a pro-business organization, not a true workers' union. So saying that NTUC experience benefits "ordinary" residents sounds detached from ground realities, especially for those struggling with cost-of-living issues.



3. Portraying himself as a "new" or "fresh" leader

Why bullshit: Ng Chee Meng lost in Sengkang GRC in 2020 and has been politically sidelined since. Repackaging himself without addressing why voters rejected him before ignores real public sentiment.



4. Overpromising skills upgrading and jobs

Why bullshit: SkillsFuture and other NTUC-linked programs have had mixed success, with frequent complaints about mismatched training and job market realities. Residents need real job placement, not vague promises of "upskilling."



5. Not acknowledging PAP’s existing track record in Jalan Kayu

Why bullshit: If PAP’s local governance had already been so good, there wouldn't be a need to sell NTUC experience as an extra booster. This quietly suggests problems exist but doesn't admit them openly.

Just from membership collections alone from at least 1.4 million memberships at $9 each amounting to more than 14 million each month, prices at NTUC supermart is nowhere cheaper than Seng Shiong or ABC stores. How can this be ?

Is this fair to members given the meagre discounts ? Members are short changed in my opinion.
