Many countries are using this method now.
With oil pricing so high, its one of the options.

EMA noted, there are ongoing efforts to decarbonise the power sector, such as its earlier announced target to import up to four gigawatts of low-carbon electricity by 2035. Also taking active steps to invest in the research of low-carbon technologies, such as hydrogen and geothermal energy, and...continues.

Monitor global developments in areas such as nuclear energy and their implications for Singapore.

I'm okay with it, but just don't build the plant in SG. Any where it's build, home prices will plunge even if it's safe. Maybe build the nuclear power plant in AU and use submarine cable to transit to SG. Same cable as the solar project. Day time from solar, night time from nuclear.

Nuclear fusion is a reaction in which two or more atomic nuclei are combined to form one or more different atomic nuclei and subatomic particles. The difference in mass between the reactants and products is manifested as either the release or the absorption of energy. Wikipedia

Those countries with nuclear energy are all big countries with lots of land. If something happen to the nuclear power plant it'll just affect a small percent of their total land size. One nuclear accident will render whole of Singapore unliveable.

Better ask your next gen to migrate, if they really build one in Sg…. Rotfl

They create the problem of mass importing but they don’t know how to solve the energy problem effectively… Just stop importing lah…. How come want to take the stupid risk?
