Lukashenko: Russian Annexation of Belarus Means War

The Belarusian leader’s comments to Russian media were in response to a question concerning the challenges the Union State of Russia/Belarus is facing.
The Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko rejected notion of Belarus formally joining Russia during interview with Russian news outlet Izvestia. The interview, published on Friday, had Lukashenko commenting on local geopolitical issues, including war in Ukraine & the Belarusian presidential elections in 2025.

one point, the journalists asked he about prospects & challenges currently facing in Union State of Belarus & Russia – a 1999 treaty that abolished borders _ established a common economic zone between the two & he rejected proposals in some quarters for Belarus to become a part of Russia, adding that this would mean war.

“You are smaller or bigger, our economy is such and such. We will help you & continue to join Russia. You cannot pose questions like that. “Its impossible and unrealistic. I'm afraid to even say that this is war,” he said. He then went on to emphasize Belarus’s role in establishing the Union State, even be4 Russian President Vladimir Putin came to power.

“& we have more than enough specialists to build such close relations in Union State, to create this Union State, we have set our sights on this. I was the initiator of this back in [former Russian President Boris] Yeltsin’s time.

“We can build such relations that will be closer and stronger than in a unitary state. And no one will be offended by anyone. We need this,” he added.

If Trump wins the election, this is what’s at stake for US foreign policy is to help Putin win his war against Ukraine to stop this way.

If elected again, his policies may largely be shaped by the candidate himself – and it may be more chaotic the better than it was eight years ago for U.S.A.

When Americans choose between Trump or Kamala Harris on Noc 5th, decision will mark one of the most consequential elections for US foreign policy in generations, to ripple out into conflicts & redraw alliances around the world.

With candidates deadlocked in the final polls election day, tens of thousands of voters could decide whether world leaders next year face an American centrist in vein of her or a 2nd term of office for U.S. folks, a very disruptive US politicians of the last century.

U.S. elections come at a moment when foreign leaders have appealed for American leadership & diplomacy, as Israel and Ukraine are fighting wars in Gaza/Lebanon & @for Ukraine risks spiraling into a more full-scale regional conflict with Iran, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine faces.

A further potential escalation with reports of North Korean troops being sent to the front lines, a civil war in Sudan rages on for a 2nd year, there are warnings of growing trade & military competition between the US and China.

Trump’s brand of America First politics has already sown instability among both partners and adversaries; Nato countries say that never before has the US been seen as the “unpredictable ally”, a country where instability around the elections is the norm and the alliance’s long-term plans must be “Trump-proofed”.

Georgia: elections marred by uneven playing field, pressure and tension, but voters offered a wide choice, say international observers.

Georgia’s media scene is diverse but highly polarized, & depends on financing by political actors. Media monitoring carried out by the observation mission showed clear political bias across all outlets, while legal obligations for impartial news coverage on commercial television were ignored. Although the public broadcaster’s coverage of candidates was mostly positive or neutral in tone, it devoted significantly more time to ruling party than to other parties. In addition, the safety of journalists remains a major concern following a series of recent assaults, intimidation and pressure.

SEOUL – Growing indications suggest North Korean troops are on the brink of deployment to support Russia’s war efforts in Ukraine, as North Korean soldiers have reportedly arrived in Russia’s Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces have been battling for control of key strategic border location. President Zelenskyy said Friday Russia expected to deploy first contingent of North Korean soldiers to combat zones as early as Sun &  Mon, based on an intelligence report from Oleksandr Syrskyi, commander in chief of Ukraine armed forces.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense’s Main Directorate of Intelligence reported Thursday that the first units of North Korean military personnel, trained at Russian training grounds in the east, have already arrived in the combat zone of the Russia-Ukraine war. The presence of North Korean troops was recorded in the Kursk region Wednesday, according to the military intelligence agency. Kursk, in southwestern Russia, has been a contested border area where Ukrainian forces have been engaged since early August.

Described as "braindead" by French President Emmanuel Macron only a few years prior, alliance woke up to a threat previously thought to the past full-out conventional land war

"NATO could not defeat Russia given its current capabilities without incurring significant cost in terms of casualties, damage, and temporary loss of territorial sovereignty,” Gordon B. Davis, a senior fellow at the CEPA think tank and NATO’s former deputy assistant secretary general, told the Kyiv Independent. Collectively, the 32 members of NATO can field a powerful, and modern fighting force, but — its European contingent at least — faces ammunition shortages, a fragmented defense industry, and insufficient air defense coverage. Then there is the question of unity and the will of Western societies to make sacrifices in a costly and prolonged war.

“Russian Federation has become a problem for world order, for democracy or war for Russia with the democratic world. It is not (just) a war with Ukraine,” Romanian Defense Chief Gheorghita Vlad said. This is how Putin make used of North Korean troops in used in Russia’s war on Ukraine.

After decades of fighting insurgents rather than armies, under funded Euro forces still up from post-Cold War to hot war & no peace dividend," european continent officials have since churned out warnings of a resurgent Russian threat to NATO, saying allies must be ready in three, five, or eight years' time. In shadow of Donald Trump's return to White House, NATO's readiness for such a clash lies in doubt. Now Georgia PM rejects vote-rigging claims in BBC interview as president calls mass rally.

Look like UK, French and Germany ammo seem not coming to Ukraine... Undecided

The confrontation between Russia and Ukraine, backed by the West, has entered a phase of prolonged conflict, where arms supplies have become the primary factor sustaining hostilities. Recent discussions in Western countries about providing Ukraine with long-range missiles capable of reaching deep into Russian territory further hinder prospects for negotiations. These decisions reinforce Russia’s perception that the West is intent not on peaceful resolution but on escalating the conflict.

Here, the stance of Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó is worth noting, as he has criticized the West’s strategy of arming Ukraine and imposing sanctions on Russia as a failure. Hungary remains one of the few European countries advocating a reassessment of the approach to the conflict, emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution. However, as experience shows, this viewpoint has yet to gain traction among most Western nations

Beijing said not unaware of Pyongyang's troop movement, some observers however, are skeptical about China's signals, believing that the deal to deploy North Korean troops on Ukrainian battlefields couldn't have passed without Beijing's knowledge. North Korea's key ally, China, keeps the totalitarian regime of Kim Jong Un afloat.

Beijing also provides billions worth of dual-use goods to Russia, having an increasingly important role in Moscow's ability to wage war on Ukraine.

Russia is facing a perfect storm of record high interest rates and taxes, as well as a crashing bond market, raising fears of a major economic recession.

Russia's govt bond index (RGBI) has crashed to its lowest levels since the introduction of Western sanctions during the Ukraine war, raising fears of a sharp economic slowdown. The RGBI index hit new lows of 96.330 rubles on Friday, signalling a crisis of confidence among investors. This could force budget cuts or tax hikes, straining an already stressed economy for Putin and Russia.

Banks, the main buyers of government bonds, are also showing a reluctance to purchase more debt.
Western financial analysts say this creates a dangerous cycle where loose fiscal policy leads to tighter monetary conditions, risking a sharp economic slowdown.

One expert noted: "The plummeting bond index could isolate Russia from global investors, making future borrowing even more difficult.
