Three years into the full-scale war, Russia failed to achieve its war aims in Ukraine, & Russian Putin has close to 1 million Russian soldiers killed or wounded to show for it.

On May 9, he attempt to conjure up “victory” by throwing a grotesque military parade in Red Square myth of victory by manipulation of history long been a cornerstone of legitimacy of Putin’s invasion regime on Ukraine. They are used today to justify any sacrifice, included Russia’s losses since Feb 2022. Putin's' ill succeed in trying monopolising suffering or victory over Ukraine.

World War II was a bloodbath of unspeakable proportions, planned & executed by totalitarian powers. It brought catastrophe of the Holocaust. It also led to division of Europe & loss of freedom of many nations in Europe, including my own.

Today, at the time of commemoration of 80 years since end of World War II, Russia is responsible for launching most devastating war in Europe since 1945. Three years into the full-scale war, Russia failed to achieve its war aims in Ukraine, & Russian Putin has close to 1 million Russian soldiers killed or wounded to show for it.

On May 9, he attempt to conjure up “victory” by throwing a grotesque military parade in Red Square myth of victory by manipulation of history long been a cornerstone of legitimacy of Putin’s invasion regime on Ukraine. They are used today to justify any sacrifice, included Russia’s losses since Feb 2022. Putin's' ill succeed in trying monopolising suffering or victory over Ukraine.

Ukraine, along w/European allies, had demanded Russia accept an unconditional 30-day ceasefire starting on Monday before holding talks, but Moscow effectively rejected proposal & called for direct negotiations instead. It was not clear if Zelenskyy was conditioning his presence in Turkey on the Monday ceasefire holding...
