Russia’s push on Pokrovsk, crumbled once again. A mechanized column advancing deep behind front was spotted, targeted, & annihilated with a coordinated HIMARS ambush &precision drone strikes, the result: destroyed vehicles, heavy losses, another failed attempt to breach Ukraine’s defenses around this key city. Pokrovsk remains a fortress, Russia’s costly assaults continue to collapse.

Explosions rock western Ukrainian cities as Russia launches large-scale drone attack. September 3, 2025
Ukrainian soldiers from a Mobile Air Defense Fire Team shoot down Russian drones at an undisclosed location in Ukraine using guns. As Russia launched a wave of drone attacks on Ukrainian cities overnight on Sept. 2-3, targeting Ukraine's far-west, officials reported.
Explosions were heard in western cities of Kalush, Khmelnytskyi, and Rivne. Sounds of Ukrainian air defense fire were also reported between 2-2:30 a.m. in Lviv, reported by Kyiv Independent journalist on the ground.
Elsewhere in Ukraine, a downed drone in the town of Vyshhorod on outskirts of Kyiv caused a fire at a residential building, Kyiv Oblast Governor Mykola Kalashnyk reported. No casualties were reported in the attack. Info immediately not available or damage or casualties stemming from Russia's attack. Nearly all of Ukraine's regions were subject to air raid alerts throughout night amid the incoming drones, Ukraine's Air Force reported. The attack comes as Russia has once again intensified attacks on Ukrainian cities in recent weeks, despite Moscow demonstrating openness to pursuing peace talks. "I'm very disappointed in President Putin, I can say that, and we'll be doing something to help people live,
Another large-scale attack on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia on Aug. 30 killed one person and injuring 34 others, officials reported.
As frustration continues to mount with Russia's non-stop attacks on Ukrainian cities, U.S. President Donald Trump levied frustration towards progress on a peace deal on Sept. 3.
Despite Trump's comments, the U.S. president has continued to refuse to implement additional secondary sanctions on Russia's war machine.
Trump's self-imposed 2-week deadline to impose additional economic pressure on Russia that he announced on Aug. 21 passed on Sept. 2 without new measures being implemented os Moscow. This is how Putin play on Trump. Nothing of such of Aug. 21 passed on Sept. 2 without new measures being implemented action by Trump. But only more strikes and rejects talks with Kyiv, Trump says he’s ‘very disappointed’ in Putin "I'm real very disappointed in President Putin, he say t & can't do something to help people live.

Ukraine’s missile arsenal has rapidly expanded, with new weapons unveiled between 2023 and 2025. Zelenskyy announced in March 2025 that the Long Neptune, capable of striking targets up to 1,000 kilometers away, had already been deployed. By August 24, Independence Day, Ukraine showcased the missile publicly, signaling a dramatic upgrade in range and firepower.
Alongside the Long Neptune, Ukraine is rolling out the Sapsan ballistic missile, boasting speeds over 5,000 km/h and a warhead exceeding 1,000 pounds. Both systems represent a major shift from Ukraine’s defensive posture to a more offensive capability, building on earlier strikes with Storm Shadows, ATACMS, and modified Neptune variants to hit Russian infrastructure and weaken its war effort.

Putin on Sept. 3 said he was ready to hold talks with Zelensky if Ukrainian president came him in Moscow.. Speaking in China, Putin, he always open to meeting but insisted Kremlin's stance that such a meeting had to be well prepared and yield tangible results.

Sorry, my long-range strike campaign are make domestically & developed Flamingo cruise missile coming, they are capacity to reach every corner of Russia and deliver more than 1 ton of explosives, weapon was used immediately to cause panic inside Russia’s already thinly protected network of high-value targets, 1st confirmed salvo tore into an FSS base in occupied Crimea near Armyansk, killing at least one Kremlin agent & obliterating 6 patrol boats moored at facility. Reports 3 such missiles, likely launched from Odesa region, crossed the Black Sea b4 striking. Video showed dawn launches, one missile shedding detachable booster in flight, consistent with Flamingo’s design. Satellite imagery indicates main admin building was destroyed, surrounding areas scorched, marking a dramatic debut for the weapon. Flamingo is a ramp-launched missile mounted on a twin-axle trailer, for mobility & rapid deployment. It use solid-fuel booster initial thrust, then a turbofan for sustained flight, exceeding 3,000 km's, w/massive 1,150 kg warhead. Developed by Ukrainian Fire Point, missile is resistant to electronic warfare & built in a protected, undisclosed facility. Its unusual name from early prototype mistakenly painted pink, leading engineers nickname it Flamingo. Russian already claimed to identify production site, OSINT analysts quickly disproved this & confirming the factory’s location remains secure.
The strategic importance of Flamingo lies not only on specifications or production scale, initial output of 30 missiles/mth as of mid-2025 & intended increase to 200–210/mth by autumn, Ukraine this timing is crucial, as restrictions remain on Kyiv’s use of US-supplied systems like ATACMS, for strikes into Russia. Flamingo fills gap, give Ukraine heavy, accurate, domestically produced option to strike deep into Russia’s defense industry energy networks.
Crimea is 1st ground for Flamingo’s full capabilities,as radar stations, S-300 & S-400 launchers, electronic warfare systems across peninsula is turn in degrading enemy’s waste land. Repeated Ukraine has promised turn Crimea into a waste land.
Forced Russian units into a reactive stance, unable to plug widening holes. Flamingo’s first confirmed strike shows how Ukraine plans to exploit vulnerabilities, hitting high-value facilities with powerful warheads to overstretched and immobile Russian army.
Flamingo targets'll mirror Ukraine’s ongoing drone campaign with far heavier effects, as its range makes it capable of reaching 90% Russia’s arms production facilities. Oil refineries energy infrastructure are obvious priorities, as Fire Point officials pointed to connection recent attacks, airport closures, & gasoline price spikes inside Russia. Military production plants, weapons depots, and command centers also sit within the weapon’s crosshairs, where the 1,150 kilogram payload can do catastrophic damage. Ukraini raids on airbases demo an appetite for striking vulnerable aviation infrastructure,& Flamingo will likely expand this pressure.
Overall, a significance of Flamingo missile is clear, as Ukraine has introduced a domestically produced, heavy, long-range weapon capable of bypassing both political constraints Russian defenses. Drones like Flamingo carries more explosives, flies faster, and is less vulnerable to jamming or interception, unlike Western systems, it does not require allied approval b4 striking Russia. President Zelensky emphasized Ukraine will continue active ops exactly as needed to defend itself, w/forces resources ready to execute planned new deep strikes within Russia. By combining long-range drones, Neptune missiles & now Flamingo missiles, Ukraine has created a diversified strike arsenal capable of dismantling Putin Russia’s army. Russia will emergence weaker by Flamingo, their end represents another threat to a new era of persistent, massed, and independent Ukrainian deep strikes that may stretch Russian industrial, & it economic & it Russian army & military resilience past is now on breaking point.

The murder: police said that Parubiy was shot 8 times with a short-barreled firearm in Lviv, capital in western Ukraine. A 52-year-old resident of Lviv was soon arrested in Khmelnytskyi Oblast and charged with the murder "Ukraine's national elite has always been a prime target for Moscow," former PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk told the Kyiv Independent. "Today, as Russia wages a war of annihilation against our state, this campaign is more ruthless than ever."
The police & Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) did not respond to requests for comment. Aug. 30 murder of ex-Speaker & current lawmaker Andriy Parubiy was latest string of killings & assassination targeting Ukrainian nationalists activists of pro-Western revolutions. While the perpetrators attacks have been detained, question of who ordered assassinations remains unsolved. Evidence has been mounting Russia could be behind at least some of the attacks.
Kremlin propaganda has consistently demonized Ukrainian nationalists and pro-European politicians. Russia announced one of its war aims was "de-Nazification" of Ukraine — Kremlin lingo for eliminating individuals & parties support Ukraine's sovereignty & its pro-European path.
Ivan Vyhivskyi, Ukraine's police chief, noted attacker tried hide in western region after "he tried to cover his tracks" by changing clothes & disposing of the weapon. Police said crime had been planned for more than a month & that the attacker had received instruction and assistance. Suspect planned to flee abroad after the crime, according to the police.

Since Independence. Ukraine Square in Kyiv capital SQ on Feb. 20, 2014 during bloodiest days EuroMaidan Revolution, around 100 protesters were killed.
Almost 10 years after the 2013-2014 EuroMaidan Revolution, a court ruled against those implicated in the murders of dozens of protesters in revolution's final days. Yet, prosecutors and lawyers who fought for years to see a fair trial say justice hasn't been served. Kyiv's Svyatoshynsky District Court on Oct. 18 issued a verdict gives ultimate legal assessment to most dramatic events of pro-Western revolution, ousted pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych.
The decision finalizes a long-running trial that began 2016. 1 of 5 defendants was acquitted others won't see jail either: 1 of them was released, other 3 are hiding in Russia verdict follows yrs of critics say was sabotage of EuroMaidan cases by Ukrainian authorities law enforcement agencies. "Authorities have done best to make sure there are no real results," Sergii Gorbatuk, former top investigator in charge of EuroMaidan told Kyiv Independent. Defendants who are in Ukraine were not held responsible, those (in Russia) were. It's impossible to implement this verdict. Ukrainian low
enforcement agencies also investigated whether Russia played role suppressing the EuroMaidan protests & provoking violence. Experts say Russia has made efforts to destroy EuroMaidan cases & hide its role. The Svyatoshynsky District Court did 't respond to a comment.
Court ruling: The 5 defendants are ex-officers of the Berkut riot police, were tried on charges of killing unarmed EuroMaidan protesters on the morning of Feb. 20, 2014. At least 48 demonstrators were murdered on that day, at least 4 police officers were killed. Prosecutors requested life sentences all defendants, who denied accusations wrongdoing. Oleksandr Marynchenko & Serhiy Tamtura were present during trial. Oleh Yanishevsky, Serhiy Zinchenko, & Vyacheslav Abroskin, who are hiding abroad, were tried in absentia, court gave long sentences to those in hiding – Yanishevsky, a deputy commander of a police regiment, received imprisonment for life for murdering. Abroskin and Zinchenko were sentenced to 15 years each on murder charges. Those who remained in Ukraine got off easy. Marynchenko was sentenced to five years in jail for abuse of power but was acquitted on murder charges. He was released because he had already spent five years in prison. Tamtura was the luckiest among the defendants, he was acquitted on all charges. Both the prosecutors and defense lawyers said they would appeal the verdict. Yury Aksyonin, son of killed EuroMaidan protester Vasyl Aksyonin, said on Oct. 18 he would also appeal ruling & demand life sentences for all defendants, according to media outlet Suspilne.

Putin suggested switching to coal reserves, which "will last for almost a thousand years," Putin said, as quoted by The Moscow Times. Russian Energy, the Kremlin has 63.4 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, enough for 100 years of production. He can come to Kyiv' — Zelensky mocks Putin's Moscow invitation
Zelensky on Sept. 5 again dismissed a proposal to meet Putin in Moscow, suggesting Russian leader should come to Ukraine instead. "He can come to Kyiv," he said in an interview with ABC News, laughing, shaking his head after being asked about Moscow invitation. "I can't go to Moscow when my country's under missiles, under attack, each day. I can't go to such a terrorist capital. Putin claimed on Sept. 3, he has "never ruled out" direct talks with Ukrainian president, adding, "If Zelensky is ready, let him come to Moscow."...

The meeting between the two leaders would be a crucial step toward negotiating an end to the full-scale war in Ukraine, now ongoing for three and a half years. (Instead both can meet in between halfway, like for eg: in Turkey.)
Following the Kremlin has denied that any such agreement was reached during Trump / Putin in Alaska. According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, a bilateral summit between Putin and Zelensky is "not ready at all," despite Trump's statements. Talking to U.S. Lavrov repeated Russian propaganda narratives Zelensky is not a legitimate leader, to justification often used by Kremlin to dodge the meeting. Look like Zelensky previously voiced readiness to meet Putin on neutral ground, during Russian-Ukrainian peace talks in Istanbul earlier this year — a proposal rejected by Moscow.
Despite international efforts to negotiate an end to war, Moscow has refused calls for a ceasefire and continued to push maximalist demands, namely, a ban on Ukraine joining NATO and control over the entire Donetsk Oblast, including areas not controlled by Russian forces.
Simultaneously, Russia has ramped up aerial attacks against Ukrainian cities & continued ground offensive operations in Ukraine's east. Ukraine anwer is more thousand missiles and drones falling across on oil plants with thousand kg bomb...

Nearly 700,000 Russian military personnel deployed in Ukraine. Close to 700,000 Russian service members deployed in Ukraine, including National Guard soldiers, special forces, and support units, Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) spokesperson Andrii Yusov said on Sept. 5. "The majority is deployed in Donetsk Oblast, which shows... (Russia's) priorities," Yusov said in an interview with Ukrainian news channel Novyny.Live.
Ukraine's army fields almost 900,000 service members across country, but President Volodymyr Zelensky said in January Russia continues to hold a numerical advantage in some front-line sectors due to concentration of forces.
At the time, Russian contingent in Ukraine counted 600,000 troops, Zelensky said. Despite reportedly suffering over 1 million soldiers killed and wounded during full-scale war, Russia has been consistently able to offset its losses by fresh contract soldiers, while Kyiv faces increasingly critical manpower shortages.
Moscow has also received North Korean reinforcements, with 10,000 of troops expected to arrive after the initial batch of 11,000-12,000 soldiers who were deployed in Russia's Kursk Oblast in late 2024. North Korean contingent helped Russia fend off a Ukrainian incursion into Russian border region, reportedly suffering 5,000 soldiers killed in combat.
When asked if North Korean troops have joined hostilities on Ukrainian territory, Yusov responded Pyongyang's forces currently remain in Russia.
North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, who met Russian Putin in Beijing earlier this week, has been a key ally to Moscow during the full-scale war, providing not only soldiers but also artillery shells and ballistic missiles.
"Along the entire front, 40-60% of artillery shells fired at Ukraine and Ukrainian soldiers are North Korean-made — these are huge numbers," Yusov said. "If this factor will take some time to clear away with more newer weapon on the killing zone, Russia's fire support & strike capabilities would be much smaller," spokesperson said, noting North Korean artillery & missile supplies play a much more significant role than the troop deployment so they will be targeted by latest weapons sooner then later...
