There are few European countries, including Poland, Bulgaria, and Slovakia, who still fly MiG-29s and can send them to Ukraine.

Kirby provided some additional context, clarifying that in this case, a platform is an airplane, stating that the Ukrainians “have received additional aircraft and aircraft parts to help them” to get more aircraft—presumably all types—in the air.

The statements of the Pentagon’s press secretary fueled a quest to find out which country had been so bold—and subtle—to provide Ukraine with complete MiG-29 fighter jets. Omg

In a video shared with CNN, Ukrainian fighters hooked up a US-made demolition charge and then sprinted through the forest to their truck, before driving away at speed.

At a distance of around 1,640 feet (500 meters) away, they then stopped their vehicle and turned to film the powerful impact of the blast – a reminder of the potential damage it could have caused had it met its intended target on Ukrainian soil.

CNN reached out to Russia’s Ministry of Defence for comment on the incident, but has not yet received a response.

Ukraine holds Bakhmut as Russia attacks relentlessly
Russian troops must go through Bakhmut to push deeper into eastern Donetsk, which Moscow seeks to control fully.

Ukrainian troops defended positions in besieged Bakhmut during a relentless push by Russian forces to capture the city turned into a wasteland after seven months of fighting.

Both sides claimed successes in what has become the longest-running battle since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine more than a year ago.

Ukrainian forces on the ground shot down a Russian fighter jet near Bakhmut and made gains in northern parts of the city, military officials said.

Meanwhile, Yevgeny Prigozhin – founder of the mercenary Wagner Group, which has spearheaded the Russian assault on the city – said in a social media post that Russian forces took control of the settlement of Zaliznyanskoye and expanded the encirclement of Bakhmut.

Russian are changing strategy. Due to Zelensky intended 400,000 new reinforcement, they are now targeting nearby towns or hills on elevated height to look down at Bakhmut so easier to see and plan for next step. I saw video most are fighting on mountain tops and we know such terrain favour the defenders if they are first at the top.

I also saw another video Wagner Group quite cunning knowing Ukrainian troops are retreating they purposely open up a route and then as Ukrainian soldiers retreat call for arty fire on them a lot of Ukrainian dead or wounded. Wagner Group really make a name for themselves in this Ukraine war.

My prediction is there will come to a point when own ppl turn around and pull Zelensky down from his chair. Most likely is own Ukrainian units rebel against the govt and then sought peace negotiations with Russian. We have seen such happen in history it is only a matter of time. Zelensky is not stupid periodically you see he use his power to strip general from their high posts as they do not agree with his strategy so he only keep Yes generals besides him. How long this will last no one know. All I know is Zelensky is already treading the path of a dictator in case he don't know. Now I want to know did he send his father to frontlines or not?

March 20, 2023 - Xi and Putin meet in Moscow as Russia's war in Ukraine continues

While China and Russia "share similar goals," President Xi Jinping said in a meeting with President Vladimir Putin on Monday.

Western leaders have expressed skepticism about Beijing's role as a peacemaker.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Xi's visit shows China’s intent to provide “diplomatic cover” for Russia's atrocities.

Ukraine's Ministry of Defense said a strike destroyed Russian Kalibr cruise missiles as they they were being transported by train in occupied Crimea.

Washington, EU states forbid Kiev from entering peace talks

MOSCOW, March 21. The US and European states intend to prevent Kiev from entering peace talks, unlike Russia and China, the Kremlin says.
"Washington and European capitals - but primarily Washington - are determined not to allow [Kiev] to enter peace talks under any pretext. They simply forbid Kiev from even thinking [about it]," the spokesman said in an interview, aired on Russian TV Tuesday.
He made this comment in regards to the remark made by the White House ahead of Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s visit in Moscow that Washington would consider any potential calls for peace in Ukraine after the Russian-Chinese summit to be unacceptable.
The Kremlin spokesman noted that "now, when masks are off, [Western states] show their bestial grin."
"Except us and China," he added. According to the spokesman, West perceives such Western statements as a "reality that one has to deal with.".

ICC decision against Putin pure propaganda — Indian expert
[Image: 1386023.jpg]

NEW DELHI, March 21. /TASS/. The International Criminal Court’s (ICC) decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin is nothing more than propaganda and is not a legally-binding document, Nandan Unnikrishnan of the New Delhi-based Observer Research Foundation told TASS on Tuesday.

"This ICC decision is absolutely propagandistic. Its goal is to fan tensions around Russia, to bring further charges against Moscow, to demonstrate that it is wrong. And that supposedly Moscow cannot get away with it," he said. "Especially since we know that neither the United States nor Russia nor China are members of the Rome Statute and do not recognize this court. That is why this decision is an absolutely propagandistic step, nothing more."

According to the expert, India is not a signatory to the Rome Statute either, although it actively participated in the document’s drafting. Nevertheless, in his words, even if India were a signatory to it, it would never take any measures against the Russian leader.

"Under no circumstances would India take any action against Putin, much less arrest him. Even if India were a member of this court. I am sure of that," Unnikrishnan said, adding that it is not in India’s interests to spoil its exclusive relations with Moscow.

India took part in the work of the steering committee for the ICC’s establishment. It also participated in the founding Rome Conference organized by the United Nations in 1998. However, later India refrained from signing the Rome Statute objecting against a number of provisions in the final edition of the documents. There are now 123 nations that are parties to the Rome Statute, including the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan.
