“Checkmate!!" PAS' putrajaya dreams In Tatters After Umno ditches pro-Najib rally?!. Feeling jilted, will vengeful PAS use Najib split Umno?.
In the unpredictable world of Malaysian politics another “twist in the tail” seemed to have left many in the country tied up in knots; this was after it was reported that Umno had decided in the eleventh hour to call off its participation in what would have been a mammoth, landmark rally in support of its jailed ex-president Najib Razak in his quest to be granted “house arrest!”
According to its secretary general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki the party fully respected the King’s prerogative under Article 42(1) and (2) of the Federal Constitution regarding the case of convicted former prime minister; he further stressed that the nationalist party had also decided to heed the call by the Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain who had warned the public not to join any such rally, citing the statement from the palace.

We firmly believe we made correct decisions on the law and facts, Chief Justice says as tenure spans four prime ministers and political turbulence.
PUTRAJAYA, Jan 8 — Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat said today she firmly believed the Judiciary under her tenure has made correct decisions on the law and facts regardless of the heated political overtones and undertones that clothed some of these cases before the court in recent years. She noted that her six-year tenure from 2019 to present day is the first time in the country’s history where a Chief Justice’s service has coincided with four different prime ministers from different political affiliations.

Tengku Maimun reminds critics who labelled her un-Islamic of Allah's judgment. Jan 8 7:15 PM
Outgoing Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat has reminded those who labelled her as un-Islamic that “Allah is the sole judge”.
Turning the tables on her critics, Tengku Maimun, who asserted that she would not stoop to their level of baseless attacks, suggested they instead engage in divine contemplation.
“My only response to them is this one rhetorical question: for those of you who have the time to question the faith of others, are you confident enough that Allah as the sole judge, has accepted your own ‘ibadah’ and deeds such that you have now been ordained the standing to question mine and of others,” she said.
