I would think most likely the ancestors of the original inhabitant of SE Asia -- the Negrotis.
These Negrotis were later displaced by the Malay ancestors who came from Southwest and Southern (including Taiwan) China.

Neither Malay nor Chinese are locals in Malaysia. Malay people used to live in Yunnan province in China and later migrated to Malaya after First Emperor conquered southern China 2000 years ago.

Rubbish, the malays are actually descendants of Tamil Indians who sail across the ocean to south east Asia
