You can't really rely on that as a measurement lah... 3 out of 54 is a pretty small sample. It is not even close, do you know how many African countries are predominantly Muslim? It's about 19...

But you can also extrapolate from the other countries that are listed. The trend is worldwide; the majority of Muslims don't leave the faith. Yes, there are cases, especially western youngsters who were born Muslims but were never raised as one, or they are rebellious, influenced by other western youth. Many will return to the faith when they reach middle age.

The thing I'd like to know is the reason why they want to drop Islam. I've not heard a single valid intellectual argument why they leave Islam. At best, I get disbelief arguments, like they don't believe the Prophet was miraculously transported to Jerusalem. Many are using emotional arguments, like they dislike the harsh Hudud law, or a man can marry 4, stuff like that. But a valid intellectual argument, never.
